Hadi: A Mentorship Program

Hadi, a mentorship program, is designed to address the challenges faced by individuals aged 18-24 who are looking for career direction, goal setting, and personal development. The program aims to bridge the gap between academic education and real-world success, providing guidance, support, and practical advice to navigate life's complexities.

Goals of the Program
  1. Personal and Professional Development: Equip youth with skills and knowledge to make informed decisions about their careers and personal growth.
  2. Direction and Clarity: Help youth discover their passions, set realistic goals, and develop a clear vision for their future.
  3. Targeted Support: Create a supportive community where youth can share experiences, learn from others, and build valuable connections.

What happens once I sign up?

For mentees, our team will find a mentor to match you with and will give an update within 7 days.

Mentors will receive a response from our team within 7 days to set expectations on your match process.

Please register as soon as possible as spots are limited.

Once I am matched, what happens?

Mentors and mentees will first be invited to The Mentorship Kick-Off – an online synchronous session which will introduce you to the program objectives, walk you through how to connect with your mentee and how to create S.M.A.R.T. goals for a productive and effective relationship. After this, the mentor and mentee are expected to create meetings that work for their schedule and as the mentor, check in with an evaluation form provided in your introduction email.

What are the meeting expectations?

The mentor-mentee meeting must occur TWICE within the first 30 days of matching. Time yourselves accordingly such that in the first meeting, you can introduce each other and create S.M.A.R.T. goals, and by the second meeting a goal has been met or sufficient progress has been made on it.

What’s an example of a S.M.A.R.T. goal?

Creating and achieving goals is a key component for ongoing academic and professional development. Setting the right goals helps create a clear plan to define and achieve success as it is made for the mentee/mentor.

S.M.A.R.T. Goal Template = [Action verb] + [Activity] + [Purpose] + [Date]

E.g.) I will complete my personal statement for my law school application by the end of October 2021.

E.g.) I will work on increasing my participation in team meetings, during the first quarter of this year

E.g.) I will find a set of post-secondary options that interest me for after I graduate high school by September 2024

Mentors and mentees will work on this together.
