Islamic Heritage Month

October 7, 2021 | Toronto

The month of October has been designated #IslamicHeritageMonth in the City of Toronto. Since Mayor John Tory’s proclamation in 2019, October has become an opportune time for the wider community to celebrate the contributions Muslims have made to the cultural fabric of Toronto. Ontarians are encouraged to participate in activities to learn more about Muslim civilizations and the universal ethics espoused by Islam such as generosity, compassion and inclusiveness.

Visit the Aga Khan Museum and peruse their permanent collections and temporary exhibits, as well as performing arts programs that focus on the promotion of pluralism, the history and diversity of Muslim civilizations and their contributions to the artistic, scientific and intellectual development of our shared world heritage.
