Caution: Private Fundraising Initiatives in the Jamat

From time to time, Jamati members carry out private fundraising projects to support personal initiatives in other countries such as India, Pakistan and Afghanistan. These may be connected to fundraising events such as music parties or other forms of entertainment.

As in any circumstance where you are asked to make a donation, please carry out appropriate due diligence on the legitimacy of these efforts, even if the individual is known to you. Please be especially careful when being asked to make contributions to private initiatives in cash or by e-transfer to a personal account, when the sponsoring body does not have charitable registration, or where there is coercion or excessive pressure to donate.

Please note that all fundraising initiatives sanctioned or approved by the Imamat institutions, including those to support Jamati members overseas, will be communicated only through official institutional communication channels.
