Employment Opportunity: Director, Collections and Public Programs, Aga Khan Museum
The Aga Khan Museum is seeking a passionate leader for the position of Director, Collections and Public Programs (DCPP). Reporting to and working in close consultation with the Director and CEO, the DCPP will be the Museum’s primary content expert and strategist, responsible for devising and delivering an audience-focused, strategically cohesive, and financially sustainable programming in line with the Museum’s direction. This would also include all aspects of digital and in-person initiatives relating to permanent galleries, temporary exhibitions, education, edutainment, community, and performing arts initiatives. The DCPP will also have oversight on the Museum’s collection’s care and management, as well as its research and publications programs.
The ideal candidate is a forward-thinking expert, passionate about the AKM’s mission to advance intercultural, pluralistic understanding and empathy through the arts. The DCPP must be deeply knowledgeable in the broader field of Muslim civilizations and their arts, with a passion for developing cutting-edge content and format approaches, directing particular focus towards maximizing the potential of digital media. An advanced knowledge of Islamic art and culture is an asset, as is the ability to speak multiple languages. (French and English are preferred; Arabic and Farsi assets).
